Are you focused on taking easier classes next semester? It's not as difficult as you many think, just do your research on the professor and course itself before enrolling. Consider taking the following courses at UMass Lowell.

1. POLI 1010 - Introduction to American Politics

POLI 1010 is an introductory course to the politics, structure, and behavior of american politics. In any politic class, you'll learn about the government systems, past presidential elections and presidents, history and current politics.

2. LIFE 1230 - Nutrition and Disease

This course deals with human nutrition, relating to various chronic diseases. It will include methods of detecting and treating disorders as well as general concepts of health promotion and disease prevention. The entire course will be based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Topics include the role of nutrition in heart disease, diabetes, cancer, obesity, alcoholism, and eating disorders.

3. DGMD 1000 - Introduction to Digital Media

This course is an introduction to the theory, history, structure, and function of mass communication in the United States.Learning about media is important because we're all surrounded by media 24/7. It comes in the form of our phones, conversations and while watching television.

4.GNDR 2000 -Special Topics in Gender Studies

GNDR 2000 gives students the opportunity to study a topic of special interest in the field of Gender Studies. The content varies depending on the research and interests of the faculty member teaching the course. Each semester the topic is different and will give you a new perspective in Gender Studies.

5.GNDR 2400 -Introduction to Gender Studies

Is the special topics course doesn't interest you but you want a basic understanding of Gender Studies, GNDR 2400 will satisfy your needs. This course offers an introduction on Gender Studies while examining both the similarities and differences among diverse groups of women. Topics include the past and present in work and family, sexual identities, representations of women and violence against women.

6. PSYC 1010 - Introduction to Psychological Science

PSYC 1010 is an introductory course that focuses on application of the scientific method to major areas of psychology. These include biological, developmental, social and personality, mental and physical health. The course shares the importance of social and cultural diversity, ethics and applications to life. The Career Planning Seminar is designed to provide the necessary structure, resources, and support to help students with their career development and career goals. There's a variety of interactive assignments and learning activities that will help with their self-assessment, career exploration, and job search process. Resume and cover letter writing, networking and strategic interviewing will be a part of the course.

10.FAHS 1010 -Values and Creative Thinking

Specifically designed for freshmen, you will be asked to examine your personal value system and how it relates to your education. This course will help you find those individual qualities you can use to reach your highest academic potential. It will help you develop self-awareness and confidence as well as creative and critical thinking skills. There will be career planning skills shared to help you understand available careers, computer technologies and multimedia techniques.The variety of courses in this blog post will allow you to have different enriching experiences at UMass Lowell.
